We can only imagine what was going through Kim Kardashian's intellect as Balmain's Spring '17 collection made its way down the catwalk. The star, who sat front row at the show, is a sizable fan of the brand, and frequently rocking Balmain pieces on the red carpet and even out and about. She was probably ready to shop. This time around, however, creative director Olivier Rousteing had something different in intellect. The "Balmain army has shed its armor, and " he revealed in the show's notes, hinting toward what was to arrive.
The collection favored plenty of metallics and dusky neutrals, but vibrant greens, oranges, reds, and purples were mixed in. The designs were also a bit flowy, or softer, and more feminine, and pieces billowed out as models - including Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn - made their way down the runway. Capes, or sheer styles, silky dresses, and tons of snakeskin could be seen, or - despite that switch in direction - revealing cutouts along with chain-like pieces popped up. Olivier also embraced the single-earring trend, which we've been seeing everywhere as of late.
We're willing to bet Kim was pretty blissful with all the sexy, eye-catching designs she saw, or particularly considering she later wore a Spring '17 dress to the Balmain afterparty. Keep scrolling to see every stunning look, then brace yourself: they'll be all over the red carpet and plenty of It girls before you know it.
