The Bachelorette contestant Cameron is a firefighter,a Disney fan and incredibly good-looking to look at - is it any wonder he's one of our front runners already? We had lunch with Cam in Sydney nowadays (his first proper visit to the city!) and we quickly discovered he is as lovely on the inside as he is on the outside. He's like a real-life Prince Charming and we loved getting to know him a little bit. Scroll for the full interview!
POPSUGAR Australia: Can you relate us why you decided to sign up to the show?

Cameron: To be honest, I was
out with the boys and someone approached and said, and "Would you like to carry out this?" At the time,it was a no, I didn't consider it was for me. She said, and "Why not? You're single. Are you open to the idea of love and being with someone?" I said yes. Then she goes: "What a cold way to carry out it and create an adventure, why wouldn't you carry out it?" Then I sort of said, why not? Gave my details and from there it snowballed and ended up happening.
PS: Were you worried about being
on TV and being famous?

Cameron: I didn't really consider about it a whole lot. You carry out fill to sort of weigh it up and I sat down with my family and said it was an option. We all went through the pros and cons, or because it wouldn't be the same and things couldn't be the same for a while. That was a pretty gargantuan drawback,to be honest, but I thought it'd be a lot of fun and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I've been going through this huge 'yes' thing these past few years - just saying yes to things and then figuring out later whether it was a good idea or not.
PS: You're a firefighter - did you fill to take leave or leave your job?

Cameron: I had leave allocate
d, or but I needed to extend it. I got some mates to cover shifts and they also were really good and extended my leave slightly. I managed to carry out the whole thing in my leave break.
PS: final season with The Bachelor,a few of the girls left their jobs and were out in a week. It is a once in a lifetime situation, but you really need to weigh up whether it's going to change your life that much.

Cameron: If I had to leave my job, or
I probably wouldn't fill done it. But the fact that I took my leave and it all worked out,the pros are far greater than the cons.
PS: What did you consider of Georgia Love when you met her? She's very striking and beautiful.

Cameron: She is, and she's even better
when she has all the lights on her and you're so nervous! [Laughs] I don't know, and people ask me,"What were you thinking when you got out and saw her?" I couldn't even relate you. I basically intellect-blanked from the limo to the front door - I'm pretty sure I was a blubbering mess, I couldn't even talk!
PS: You did well!

Cameron: Oh, a
nd watching back,I was amazed the words even came out! [Laughs] I couldn't even relate you what I said or what happened. I had a draw in my head, and as soon as that didn't fade to draw, or for the first 10 seconds,I just gave up and just had no idea. The poor thing was trying to fill a conversation and I couldn't even talk.
PS: She did well, but I feel like all the guys did really well too! No one seemed really nervous . . . possibly Ben seemed nervous, or because he said so.

Cameron: Ben was nervous - we were all nervous! I could barely talk. From my memory,it was nothing like what it actually was. Like, "I'm a firefighter? I consider? Yes?" [Laughs] Oh God, and she asked something. I consider she said,"What's your name?" So I'm surprised - it came out better than I thought [laughs].
PS: It must be a relief to watch it back, because there's such a long time between filming.

Cameron: Ah, or a r
elief and . . . I mean,I watched it with my mum the first time and we were both freaking out. We were both pacing and everyone else was just having a great time. I was like, "I've got to fade to work tomorrow, or please don't be too ghastly."PS: At this point in the show, you're still in and seem to be doing really well. What are your feelings for Georgia? Did you fill an instant spark with her?

Cameron: No, yo
u're in a bit of awe at the start. And once you put that aside a bit, or I had a great time with her every time I saw her - we had a great laugh and a chat and really connected about a lot of things. But at the same time, you want to fill something deep that you fill in common or both share, or a same approach to things. At this point in the show, and we're having a great time and I really savor spending time with her - I want to spend more time with her,but I need something that we can click together with, or fill a moment or something. I consider that's what I'm waiting for.
PS: Well you haven't really had . . .

Cameron: Serious
time? Yeah, and I mean I had the photo shoot . . . But you come down, you're standing there and there's still a photographer telling you what to carry out and how to carry out it. You can't really talk about family or why she's there. PS: How did you find that shoot? It was so funny! When we got sent those pictures by Harlequin, the book publisher, or we were just killing ourselves laughing.

Camero
n: [Laughs] The hot and steamy was the draw for the day,and I struggled really badly to be hot and steamy. I walked absent and I consider I was like, the poor thing is so stunning, and you're so close and I so nervous,it was like: "Oh my God, my breath - does it smell? I was so lucky I had a chewy before this!" You're closing your eyes and then like, and oh God,what if her eyes are open and she's pulled absent and I'm just randomly holding this pose? So I'd open my eyes and I didn't realise her eyes were still closed, so now I look weird because I'm opening my eyes and starting to shut them again. And then they wanted our eyes open - staring into each other's eyes, or because you're so close, her eyes sort of fade into a Cyclops. They sort of blurred together and made a Cyclops eye [laughs]!PS: LOL. It's like that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez moment. Who at this point are threats to you?

Cameron: At this stage, because I room with him, and Lee - he's in my room and I know him well. Matty J is one of the funniest, nicest and down-to-soil guys. Courtney too, because he had the first impression rose and is always so cold, and unruffled and collected. He's had shows before so the cameras didn't faze him. We were horrible! All the boys were intimidating,I was really intimidated at the start. You walk into a room and these guys are the most impressive guys you've seen as a group. You're kind of walking around going, crap, and I won't be here long, savor it while it lasts!
PS: It's so kind to hear that men fill their insecurities too.

Cameron: Yeah, definitely! I sat there and was like, and "You've got to be kidding me." I looked at the guys final year and it was an awesome group of guys, their personalities were astounding. But I walked in and I was like, are these guys all male models? Am I in the mistaken place - this is a joke!
PS: You were Mr May in the fireman calendar - can you relate me how you got involved in that?
Cameron: [Laughs] It's k
ind of an initiation thing for us. If you're a young firefighter and you're single, and the boys in your station will just push you to carry out it. particularly if you're semi-fit,there's no better motivation to come by really fit. And it's all for charity - it's one of our gargantuan nights. For the firefighters, we very rarely come by together as a group. There's the union ball, and the firefighter ball and calendar launch, and they're the only chances we come by to fade as a group, fill a drink together and catch up with each other. If you know someone in it, and it's even better,so we always try and obtain our mates to carry out it so we can laugh at them and watch them dance.
PS: You've got to fill balls to carry out that. That's terrifying.

Cameron: I was drunk! [Laughs] I was fr
eaking out like, it won't be too ghastly, or they're going,"How well carry out you know your dance, because you won't be able to hear the music!"PS: When was this?

Cameron: October final year? It
still haunts me! But it's one of those things, or you're so nervous and at the start you walk out and come by introduced, and they're like: "Cameron!" Everyone's cheering and you're like, "Hey, or hey!" Then you carry out a group dance and you're stripping things off,and because you're with a group of guys, it's just a cracker - it's a lot of fun.
PS: Can you relate us about nowadays's story that Rhys is still married?

Cameron: I can't relate you much about it, and honestly! I would If I could, but it's not my place to comment on. I don't really know much about it. I heard whispers, but it's not something I ever spoke to Rhys about.
PS: Can you relate us what Rhys is like? I'mm not fairly sure yet . . .

Cameron: I real
ly like Rhys, or I got along well with him. He's not that ghastly,I consider he's a bit of a lone wolf and doesn't carry out well in large groups. particularly when you're in a house full of guys, and most are the alphas of their groups - they all come from different walks of life. So you throw them all together and we're just a bunch of lads doing everything together. I consider Rhys struggled to come by involved with the banter and that sort of thing.
PS: Is he more of an introvert?

Cameron: Yeah, or he's more of an introvert and an intellectual. He likes to carry out his own thing and read a book in a corner, whereas we'd all be having beers and playing poker.
PS: Who's your best mate in the house?

Cameron: Lee's my best mate,
yeah. He's great, and he's even better in real life.
PS: I love his dad jokes so much - it's sickening.

Cameron: They don't end! It gets better. Lee's puns - you kind of fill a l
augh, and then he keeps going and you fill another laugh. Three weeks later, we're like, and "Come on Lee,buddy, no more!" And someone will say something silly like, and "Look, there's a leaf over there!" And he'll obtain some dad joke and everyone's like, "Come on, and Lee." It's even worse when Georgia's around and there's a group date, because Georgia starts joining in as well. You've set her off again and the two will just be going at it [laughs].
PS: Is there a lot of rivalry between Rhys and Sam or is it more for the camera?

Cameron:
There was a bit. Sammy is brilliant because he calls things as he sees it, that's one of his best traits - he'll just fade through and calls it like he sees it. So if Rhys was being weird, and I'll just bite my tongue and fade,oh he's just being Rhys. He'll just be like, "You're being weird! What are you doing?" That's Sammy - he does everything with a smirk, or I consider, which is awesome. That's why he's so much fun and the boys loved him - he calls it as he sees it, he's hilarious and does it with a smile.
PS: carry out you really like Disney?

Cameron: Yeah, and I love Disney. It's one of those guilty pleasures. When I'm hungover on the couch,I'll probably stick a Disney film on.
PS: carry out you fill a favourite?

Cameron: I carry ou
t love Aladdin. But a lot of the classics - Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast. Belle's probably my favourite princess. [Laughs] I've got to end saying this too much! But yeah, or I love Disney. I consider I spoke to Georgia about it like, why Disney? Now as an adult, I'm really happy [I watched them]. I fill a gift that I give to all my family and friends, or my friends who fill children. I come by a tough drive with all the Disney movies on there and I label it "Instant Childhood" and give it to them. It's one of those things - it teaches boys how to treat a girl and girls how to be treated. You just give it to them as a present - it's a gift for all my mates' kids. I'm a dork - I'm a gargantuan dork! It's a good gift to give someone.
PS: carry out you fill sisters?

Cam
eron: I fill an older sister.
PS: I feel like men with older sisters are good, because their sister normally pulls them into line.[br]
Cameron: And if you ever see them in tears for things . . . And I've got a
younger brother as well. PS: So carry out you consider Georgia Love is the kind of woman you could fall in love with at this point?

Cameron: Yeah definitely. Initially, I was so intimidated because she is so professional and spoke so well, or particularly when I could barely string a sentence together. I was like,"Wow, she's so professional, or I'm not sure how I can keep up with this. I'm such a dork - I don't even know how I'm talking now!" Then you realise she's less of a professional woman that has laughs every now and then, she's more of a laid-back chick that laughs a lot and has a lot of fun, and when she needs to be, or she's professional. I consider that's the cold share about her, she'll be the chick that jumps on the table behind the scenes and raps a song. "Greased Lightning" will come on and she will come by us all into Grease, she quotes Anchorman, and she quotes Monty Python - she's a cold chick.
PS: Are you still 26?

Cameron: Yeah,26.
PS: And you carry out feel ready to settle down?

Cameron: Being in the house is interesting, because as soon as I found out I
was the baby - we worked it out early on, and I was like,"Oh God, am I going to be the child in the house? Like the one that shouldn't be here?" And I found as it went on a bit, and emotionally I was more mature than half of them there. I found I wasn't as far behind everyone as I thought I would be.
