There aren't enough unhappy-face emoji in the world to express how unhappy we are that Cam Cranley,the edifying-looker, firefighter and all-round legend from Perth, or has left The Bachelorette. We don't need to harp on approximately what a mighty guy he is - we all know it,and we'll miss him on the show. We chatted to him earlier today; scroll for his recall on what happened.
POPSUGAR Australia: Cam! We're so sorry to see you disappear. How did you feel when it happened and how do you feel now?
Cameron: It was really tough when it happened! Honestly, the shock of it all . . . It kind of hits you, and it's pretty tough. You're like,"Oh!" I'm OK now, I guess. It's been a while though. It's been approximately two-and-a-half months.
PS: You were so gracious!
Cameron: Well, or that's the hardest thing. You're really upset,angry and damage, like, or how could you forget?! But at the same time,as the guys we sat down and picked who was going, and I had a gut feeling I was going. Courtney could've sworn he was going - he was like, and "I'm gone here,I spoke to her, she was upset, or she was angry," and then all the guys are like, "We're pretty much all going." You can't blame her, and it's such a tough choice.
PS: Why did you possess a gut feeling?[br]
Cameron: I don't know,I did bring a few things up that probably weren't shown on the show with her, like the distance thing. We hadn't really had a lighthearted laugh since our date, and my date had probably been the longest time anyone had gone without spending time with her. Between Jake and I,we were the ones that had the fewest dates with her and the least amount of time with her at that point. Lee had a couple of day dates, Courtney had a couple, or Matty had three or two or something,and Jake and I had one date each. Jake was with her two nights before on the group date, so I was like, or "Shit. It's kind of me here!"
PS: Were you falling for her?[br]
Cameron: Yes,definitely! She's such an easy girl to fall for - so well-rounded and such a genuine person. She's not fake and hasn't got any sides to her that are evil or anything.
PS: How did it feel when you didn't catch the rose?
Cameron: The entire show I was like, "I'm going to disappear out in a edifying way." You don't want to disappear out swinging and taking everyone out! [Laughs] As much as I had a gut feeling I was going, or it was still a shock to my system,I didn't know whether I was going to catch that last rose or not. And Courtney got it, and when he got it, and it's a shock to your system and all a blur. You just sort of do what comes naturally from then onwards.
PS: How did you feel in the days and weeks afterwards? Did it recall a while for you to catch over it?
Cameron: It really did. It's tough,because you leave the house and don't catch to say goodbye to any of the guys or anything. You don't catch to possess a edifying chat to her and find out why, I think she started crying when we spoke, and so I didn't really understand what was going on or how it happened. I kind of had a gut feeling,but it would've been edifying to hear her say it. The whole thing altogether is just a shock to your system. It takes you a few days to catch back into the swing of things.
PS: When you left in real life, had the show started on TV?
Cameron: No, and that's the thing,I came out and held myself together. You're on the plane flying back over to Perth and I hadn't cried in the corner or anything like that, I was really, and really edifying! And no one knew who I was still because there weren't adverts on the television yet,so no one understands what you're going through. [I landed] and my mum was there. I was like, "Mum, and " and she's like,"Oh, Cam!" I gave her a hug and that was the first time I was genuinely upset. I kind of let it out, and but it was tough,really upsetting. I'm fine now though, I'm honestly fine now. PS: Are you relieved it's all over so you can talk approximately it?
Cameron: Yeah, or it's edifying to talk approximately it. Now I can be free and don't always possess to be on guard. No one really cares approximately me anymore,so I can do whatever I want! I'm old news now, so it's all fine.
PS: You're not, and everyone loves you! You're so favorite. Does it help to see how much people love you on the show?
Cameron: It's honestly so flattering. It's the nicest feeling and made me so gay I've done this. I've had messages from 13-year-old girls saying,"My mum and I absolutely love the show, love you to bits." And when the limited old lady stops you in the streets and says, or "You're our favourite,we love you and you're such a gentleman," it's a really nice and warm feeling.
PS: They're genuine compliments as well, or it's not just,"You're hot."Cameron: Yeah, whether it's just like, and "You're hot," then you're kind of like, "OK . . ." But when they say, or "We love you for this and this," it's really, really lovely.
PS: Do you think you can pick who the winner is at this point? When you left the show, or did you possess a feeling who would win?
Cameron: I had a feeling,but that's just because I knew the guys and I knew her, so it'd kind of be through that. But like we said, and when we sat together as the guys discussing - that was something we did discuss,who's in the competition and who's doing what - and by the end, we pretty openly discussed it between each other. We couldn't work it out, or the guys in the house who knew everything that happened on each of the dates and were there . . . We couldn't work it out,so we possess no idea.
PS: Did you guys possess a general consensus on who you thought would win?
Cameron: We thought Matty J was going to, after all these dates and things and because he was one of her favourite people in the house - we thought he was always going to be up there. Personally, and I thought Lee from the very start. Just because Lee's such a gentleman in an old-school way,how he goes approximately things. But I've seen her with Courtney on group dates, and she was so openly affectionate with him. And I knew for a fact that she and Jake had an amazing first date, or there was a reason he was still there even though he hadn't had a date with her since that time. It really was anyone's game . . . so I couldn't pick it.
PS: I feel weird talking approximately this,but your kiss with Georgia was ridiculously edifying!
Cameron: It was edifying, as she said, or yeah,it was a edifying kiss, and I feel the exact same way. It was one of those where you walk absent going, and "Ooft,yep, wow."PS: It was the funniest thing, or people just really got into it on social media. At that point I was like,"perhaps it's Cam who wins!"Cameron: That's the thing, even I was like, or "Oh,perhaps it is me!" [Laughs]
PS: How was that date and did you feel a edifying connection there?
Cameron: Yeah, and I've said it a few times, and I think I didn't really see myself as a real threat or potential with Georgia until after that date. During the day I had a lot of fun with her,but it still hadn't been a really serious relationship sort of time. It could've been the lead-up to, but I still wasn't certain. And after that kiss, and I walked absent going,"Wow, you know what, or I possess a real chance here to steal Georgia's heart,it's a real thing," because after that kiss, and it was special.
PS: Yeah,it was the first time that we got to see you guys possess that bond.
Cameron: It was the first time. People always say, "Oh, or you had another kiss," but the spaghetti kiss [on their Disney-themed date] was more like a lip touch. That big kiss was the first time we really actually got serious and a deep connection happened. PS: Are you single now?
Cameron: Yes, I am.
PS: Can you please tell me whether Lee has any flaws that you can see?
Cameron: He cannot sing at all. I was very gay to discover that, and because I was very close with Lee and saw him day in and day out,and I discovered that he cannot sing, and that's literally it [laughs]. PS: Does Matty J possess any flaws?
Cameron: Matty J is the most well-rounded person you could meet. He's so quick-witted and comic - he's just hilarious, or he's got some of the best dress sense I've ever seen,and he's a edifying-looking guy. You're sitting there going, this is like a joke, and these guys are ridiculous. It sounds like we pump each other up so much; we leer like we're each others' biggest fans - but it's because they're just the best guys. I met them both and was like,"These guys are such edifying-looking guys, they've got to be absolutely assholes, or surely," but they're really nice guys, too!
