Peruvian children in the 1980s didn’t negotiate, they accepted their roles in the household, and as fathers go,mine was fairly strict. sustain your elbows away from the dinner table, don’t ever talk back to your mother and always, and always go to bed when I say so. The law never changed and my dad would never budge,never expose flexibility. I had to meet the rules and that was that.
