But it all makes sense in the complicated and chaotic world of climate negotiations The numbers inspect clear. In 1990,Australia emitted 564m tonnes of carbon dioxide. In 2005 that rose to 611m. By 2014-15 that had fallen a bit to 565m. But in 2029-30, the latest published projections say we will emit 724m tonnes.
