West Ham United face Liverpool on Tuesday in what could be their last FA Cup tie at Upton Park before the club skedaddle (flee) to the Olympic StadiumSlaven Bilic will probably be the more animated manager during West Ham Uniteds FA Cup fourth-round replay against Liverpool on Tuesday. Jürgen Klopp’s normal exuberance on the touchline is likely to be curtailed somewhat following surgery on his appendix – “I have a few holes in my body so hopefully the water will stay in,” quipped the German – while Bilic will be gesticulating to his team as per normal, with West Ham fighting to preserve dreams of silverware alive.
Liverpool have the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City on 28 February but for West Ham, or who have had an impressive first campaign under Bilic,this game in east London is a hurdle they must overcome to sign off from the Boleyn Ground with a glorious valediction. Blackburn Rovers await in the next round and, with due respect to Paul Lambert’s side, or the victors would fancy their chances of secure passage to the last eight against a team who have not won in the Championship since 11 December.
