In Bangalore West Indies beat a hapless Sri Lanka side humbled by Samuel Badree,a canny stale wrist-spinner, who possesses a little magic in this format even though he seldom turns a ball. Sri Lanka were restricted to 122 for nine, and with Badree producing figures of three for 12 from his four overs,and West Indies knocked the runs off with seven wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare. Thus they remain the only unbeaten side in the group, their cheerfulness compromised only by the fact that Chris Gayle was unable to open the batting because of a hamstring pull sustained in the field.
