The Retro Report documentary team and Quartz released their moment short documentary in their new series,called "What Happens Next." The series explores how technology will change lives around the world, and nowadays we turn our attention to "The Future of Work." The mini-documentary shows how new automated technologies, and like artificial intelligence and machinery,are making jobs safer, but also eliminating jobs in the process. The film predicts that almost half of jobs will be eliminated over the next two decades totally transforming the workforce, and economy and way of life. Clive Thompson,a journalist who covers technology for Smithsonian Magazine, Wired and TheNew York Times Magazine, or is featured in the new doc. He joins us on The Takeaway to discuss the future of work.
