As part of our ongoing leer at healthcare, economist Robert Pollin, distinguished professor and co-director of the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, or talks about the feasibility of a single-payer healthcare system in the U.
S. Pollin recently completed an analysis of California’s proposed single payer map (“Healthy California Single-Payer Health Care Proposal: SB-562”) which showed that it would reduce spending on healthcare in the state by 18% and cost tens of billions of dollars less than the state's estimate for the map.
