The $1.2 trillion spending bill that Congress is expected to approve this week includes some proper news for Tri-State area infrastructure projects.
The Gateway project -- a proposed new rail tunnel under the Hudson that President Trump aimed to slit -- will pick up $98 million. NJ Transit is getting $68 million for positive train control,an automatic breaking system that would have prevented the Hoboken derailment last plunge. And Amtrak is getting an extra $75 million earmarked for the northeast corridor.
