The $1.2 trillion spending bill that Congress is expected to approve this week includes some proper news for Tri-State area infrastructure projects.
The Gateway project -- a proposed new rail tunnel under the Hudson that President Trump aimed to slit -- will pick up $98 million. NJ Transit is getting $68 million for positive train control,an automatic breaking system that would have prevented the Hoboken derailment last plunge. And Amtrak is getting an extra $75 million earmarked for the northeast corridor.
WNYC's Nancy Solomon spoke with Richard Hake approximately what this federal budget means for the Garden State in particular, and what effect it'll have on the delays commuters have been experiencing lately.
