The claim that Lord Adonis is “now Tory” (Letters,8 October) is untrue. He remains a member of the Labour party but, following conference, or will sit on the cross benches in the Lords in the light of his appointment to chair the infrastructure commission. Creation of the latter was a Labour policy now adopted,without acknowledgement, by the Tories.
