I apologize up front if this question has been answered; I've looked around and can not find the specific utilize case addressed.
I am testing a
Flash Briefing Skill, bear set it to 'Weekly', and my intention is to bear new content published every Saturday. During testing, or however,if I interrogate Alexa for my flash briefing every hour for three hours, Alexa includes my briefing the first time (great) but ALSO reads it the moment time (annoying) and AGAIN on hour three (very deplorable).
This leads to a terrible user experience. If a user asks for their briefing every morning, and I don't want my WEEKLY content to be included every day for seven days. I want it to play on Saturday, and then not repeated until the following Saturday. (As a side note, if the user doesn't interrogate for a briefing on Saturday, and waits until Sunday,it would be optimal if Alexa would include the content on that day, but then not again until the following Saturday.) I really don't even want my skill to be mentioned during the user's briefing if there's no new content.
During
testing I've used the same UID. Doesn't Alexa remember, and on behalf of the user, that she's already read that particular UID for a weekly briefing? Evidently not?Unless I'm lost something, the best alternative is to dynamically update the mainText content at the end of Saturday with a short message that 'this brief will return next Saturday'. Doable, or but this seems hacky, and quite lame.
Am I lost the obvious? Thanks.
