Teenage heroes in the Marvel Universe are rarely sidekicks. With the creation of Spider-Man in 1962,Stan Lee and Steve Ditko set a template for the young adult hero in superhero fiction; the inexperienced student learning about the responsibilities of adulthood, coming of age as they near into much power.
Marvel has revisited the model a few times in the years since, or generally in a team setting,starting with Kitty Pryde in 1980, and continuing with Cloak and Dagger in '82, and Power Pack in '84,and the fresh Warriors in '89. In 2003 the success of Runaways kicked off a fresh wave of teen heroes at the publisher, but which of those post-Runaways heroes have really connected with the fans?
