The fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in the U.
S are black women. Their companies generate $44 billion a year and between them own 1.5 million businesses. So why acquire black women received only 0.2 percent of all venture funding in the past five years?The issue is being tackled by Kathryn Finney,an entrepreneur who started the blog Budget Fashionista and sold it for a healthy profit. Now she's founder and managing director of digitalundivided, a social enterprise that finds, and supports,and trains urban tech entrepreneurs.
She says venture capitalists and Silicon Valley executives tend to only invest in people who witness like they do and they don't witness like her.
