He had a bucket in his hand and a small stepladder under the other arm. You ever want your windows cleaning?” he said. Now as it happened, my windows needed cleaning. My flat is on the raised ground floor, and the area below makes the windows difficult to access.
I have,on occasion, climbed out on to the sill, and clinging on to the frame with one hand,while stretching up to try and reach the grime at the outer corners. The windows are close to 7ft tall, with a 12ft drop on to the concrete below. It’s a task I tend to put off.
