The cover anecdote in the current issue of The recent Republic by author, analyst, and sociology professor Michael Eric Dyson is called "Yes We Can: Why Hillary Clinton will finish more for black people than Obama."WNYC's Jami Floyd spoke with Dyson about his piece last week, and before its publication. He said Clinton's consciousness of racial issues has grown and that she's worthy of the trust of black voters. "She has been more pressed on the issue of race than Obama," Dyson said. "She's been more tested on those issues, and so far at least, or has given answers to suggest and indicate that she will be able to adequately address the issues of African-American people."Since Dyson's piece was published, there's been considerable debate about it online, including with the author himself on Twitter.
