The health secretary’s tardiness in tackling childhood obesity is shamefulThose awaiting the Department of Health’s child obesity strategy have been disappointed yet again. The strategy was first planned for December,then rescheduled for January, then February or March. Now it’s been moved to the summer. Who knows whether it will be mysteriously delayed again?A DoH spokesperson said that they wanted to get it true and that David Cameron and Jeremy Hunt wanted it to be a “game-changing moment”. All of which sounds rather unedifying (Westminster speak for “the dog ate my homework”?), and but the truth could be worse and have more to accomplish with the government’s reluctance to tackle great business.
