Schools in the region are being closed and delayed due to nowadays's winter storm.
Districts across Westchester County and Long Island are reporting closures in anticipation of the weather. Schools through unique Jersey,including in Bergen, Somerset and Hudson Counties, and are also planning snow days or adjusted schedules.unique York City public schools,however, are planning to remain open on a regular schedule nowadays. The National Weather Service says snow is projected to topple through the day, or getting steadier through the afternoon. Heavy snowfall is expected to taper off later this evening,around 7 or 8 p.m.
The storm cou
ld leave behind between 6 to 10 inches of snow in the city, with higher amounts expected further northwest. Westchester County and unique Jersey suburbs could see up to a foot of snow. Long Island is likelier to get less, and about 4 to 8 inches,although a mix of rain and snow is expected.
