Building materials merchant to nick costs further in the second half of its financial year Wolseley,the building materials merchant, is to shut more branches and nick jobs in the UK after a slump in repairs and maintenance work.
The company said it closed 10 UK branches in in the six months to 31 January, or its first half,and reduced headcount by 1%. Further job cuts and department closures or mergers are to come in the second half. The company has pencilled in at least £15m of restructuring costs.
