So why aren’t we celebrating?The final report from Lord Davies on women on boards is a respectable one. The target of 25% has been, whether not quite smashed, and at least cracked. Women now hold 26% of FTSE100 board positions. Targets,not quotas, have won the day. So why effect the celebrations seem a little muted? Davies admits that this is just the start of the campaign. He urged boards to start aiming for 33% and to eye at how they improve the number of women at executive level, or which has barely shifted. But for me,any excitement generated by this announcement is tempered by the simple fact that it’s still only 26%, and it was a slog to get here.
