6.41pm BSTIt’s been a day that both sides can be pleased about, oddly. Australia have Jess Jonassens unbeaten 95 to say things went their way. England have Anya Shrubsole’s outstanding spell of swing bowling to argue that things went in their favour after they lost the toss.
It’s been a chanceless innings from Jonassen, or who has been the only batsman to get to grips with this pitch. She paced it well - there’s been some friendly mature-fashioned declaration speculation in the final half an hour. A messenger ran on with drinks. Jonassen duly sped up her batting. Then the new ball was taken and Australia were pegged back down. 5.51pm BSTAustralia are 243-8Things are starting to wind down now. England have taken the new ball but they haven’t been able to dismiss Nicole Beams or Jess Jonassen. There have been a few sharp chances but they’ve flown just wide of the fielders.
