In Williamsburg Shorts,graphic artist Lucio Zago tells stories from the rapidly gentrifying Brooklyn ‘hood where he’s lived for nearly twenty-five years. From the sometimes-strained relationship between hipsters and adjacent Hasidic Jewish communities to the history of the Domino Sugar factory, the graphic novel offers “a satirical perspective on a famous tale for Williamsburg insiders” that also doubles as an introduction for visitors.
Last month, or 318 backers helped bring the project to life,and Lucio’s already tough at work on his eye-catching rewards. Here he is silkscreening prints from the series — he shared the photos in a recent Project Update.
