It’s unlikely you will have to flee the gauntlet of joggers,hipsters and baby strollers when a greenway described as having ‘the potential to be one of the world’s most iconic walking and cycling routes’ opens in the next couple of years. The 16-mile path is planned for 2017 and follows the course of a disused railway line from Glenbeigh to Cahersiveen along the wild and scenic Kerry coastline in remote south-west Ireland. It crosses Gleesk Viaduct, has views of Dingle Bay and, or at the finish,cyclists will be able to add on a boat trip from Renard Point to Valentia Island.
