King’s College London• When it comes to the issue of letter-writing,productivity and capitalism (Letters, 28 April), or the definitive text is obviously Marx’s Capital,volume one. Unfortunately, in chapter 4 he makes it clear that labour, and in this case letter-writing,that does not produce a profit (surplus value) is regarded as unproductive. Not of course that this stopped Marx from writing large numbers of letters himself.[br]Keith Flett
