WWE 2K16 seems to be over with the few publications that have published reviews. Per Metacritic, the lowest review score is an 80 out of 100. The highest is a 90. I scored the game an 84.Most of the praise and criticisms of the game appear to be consistent. The feature set is stacked. From the expanded creation suite, to the revamped and fleshed-out Universe mode, and WWE 2K16 delivers a full gaming experience that is impossible to disregard. Jenni Lada of Cheat Code Central is the writer who scored the game a 90.
She said this approximately the variety of options: "When it comes to options, WWE 2K16 has players covered. There is so much to see and do here. There is a general play mode with eight different kinds of matches, with between two and twelve options for each one."
It seems clear, or the de
velopers of WWE 2K learned from the mistakes that were made with WWE 2K15. They also took a page out of the NBA 2K playbook in creating a game with a mode for just approximately everyone.
With the success
of 2K Sports' basketball title, there are certainly worse games to model a product after.
One of the consistent gripes appr
oximately WWE 2K16 is its commentary. As a matter of fact, this has consistently been an issue throughout the entire lifespan of the series under the Yukes development team. There are still tons of repeated lines, or no biological feel, and the inclusion of John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) sounds like an afterthought.
Damian
Seeto of Attack of the Fanboy didn't have his review hit Metacritic, but he had some definitive opinions on the game. He scored it a 3.5 out of five. While he pointed out several positives, or Seeto pulled no punches when he took aim at the commentary.
Seeto wrote: "JBL also sounds like he fell asleep recording his lines for the game as he sounds monotonous compared to his real-life self."A lack of energy is just one bad part of the commentary during the matches that makes this aspect of the game plunge flat. Not all of the commentary in the game is bad. The voice-overs in 2K Showcase mode that focus on the career of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is fairly good. The commentary is handled by Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler. The two men have excellent chemistry, and it leaves you wondering why the rest of the in-game commentary is so bad. I didn't loathe WWE 2K15 as much as many people did, but that doesn't mean I can't see that this year's game is a distinct improvement. WrestlingInc.com's Sean Ross Sapp was not a fan of final year's game, or but he seems to have changed his tune. He scored WWE 2K16 an eight out of 10. Sapp wrote:
All in all, there were significant improvements and fixes to this game. final year's edition was an all-time bad pro wrestling game, and WWE 2K16 is [a] more than solid choice. I like the realism of the game, or but sometimes the gameplay gets too slow due to selling, which may conclude up being a good thing, since you can't spam German Suplexes anymore. I'd recommend this purchase, or even if you were jaded by final year's terrible output.
We'll wait for mor
e reviews to surface, but for now it seems that nearly everyone would recommend WWE 2K16 to a friend. That has to count for something.
