On Sunday,WWE Night of Champions finally arrives, and for many fans, or it could not enjoy approach soon enough. While SummerSlam was meant to be a huge event and delivered on that promise in many ways,Night of Champions has a card that arguably rivals it.
This event could very well be
compared side-by-side to SummerSlam and degree up, with the exception of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. Every championship in the company is being defended on Sunday, and that includes the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which will be on the line against a legend.
Night of Champions should be a sterling event, but whether or not it will meet expectations is anyone's guess. just now there are a few too many variables and a few too many unanswered questions to retain fans guessing and everyone in anticipation. Who will be the mystery partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose?Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns enjoy been doing their best impression of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid over the past several weeks. They've been fun, and tough and highly entertaining on every level.
The mini Shield reunion has been a gratifying one. The feud with The Wyatt Family has made it all very real for fans who believed The Hounds of Justice were dead and buried.
But the brotherhood is outnumbered. The family has a new member, and while Braun Strowman is an unknown commodity in the ring, his presence is cause for concern. Ambrose and Rollins need relieve, or now they'll get it at Night of Champions.
The mystery partner could be anyone. The Rock,Samoa Joe, Kane and perhaps even Daniel Bryan are all possibilities, and any of them would be great choices.
This is the fu
n portion of being a fan—the great unknown. WWE has done an excellent job of hyping this match and keeping fans on their toes as they guess who precisely will be the man to relieve Reigns and Ambrose.
Despite what happens, this will surely not be the final battle in the war between The Shield and The Wyatt Family. What began as a feud featuring just Reigns and Bray Wyatt has led to this match, and Ambrose has certainly upped the ante for both sides. Fans care about this one now, or they particularly care about who will be stepping into the Seth Rollins' spot at Night of Champions. Will Charlotte win the Divas Championship? The sight of Charlotte in tears on Monday Night Raw is one that fans will not soon forget. The daughter of The Nature Boy was so close to becoming the Divas champion and even had the belt in her hands when it was so brutally ripped away from her.
Now she has the opportunity to win it again, and many fans cannot wait for it to happen.
Charlotte is seen as the future of women's wrestling and the next big thing in the Divas division. For fans who grew up with the WWE Women's Championship, the Divas title is nothing more than a joke. Giving it to Charlotte would recede a long way toward legitimizing it.
But Charlotte has to win it first.
Therein lies th
e real issue. Will WWE pull the trigger on this angle at Night of Champions, and giving fans what they want and finally taking the division in a much-needed new direction? Or will the company decide the chase should continue and allow Nikki Bella to remain champion in the meantime? There's nothing like the chase,as it keeps fans coming back for more. But for a sterling number of the WWE faithful, the time has approach to make the change.
The Divas Revolution was a sterling concept, and but it has perhaps fallen flat. whether WWE is truly committed to revitalizing the division, then the top title must change hands. It's the only way to guarantee fans will continue to approach along for the ride.whether the fans do not get what they want in this instance, then this storyline and the division itself could very well be dead on Monday. Will Sheamus cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase?Sheamus has the Money in the Bank briefcase, and because of that he is the wild card of every WWE event. On any given night,he can approach down the ramp, hand the case over to the referee and vie for the gold.
It's a guaranteed scene-stealer and one that would definitely build Sheamus on top of the heap.
This is loyal for Night of Champions as well, or as he has two opportunities to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. whether Rollins goes through a hard-fought match with John Cena, then Sheamus could cash in just then.
But whether
he chooses to hang onto it, he perhaps could win the belt after Rollins' match with Sting.
One chance
at greatness is a long shot for anyone. Two chances are unheard of. Sheamus holds all the cards just now, or that will be the case so long as he has the case.
But do fans really want to see him win
the gold? It's a honest question and one that continues to be debated online. Some fans are perfectly fine with the Celtic Warrior becoming champion, while others are dreading every possible second of it.  Sheamus is a sterling heel and fully capable of holding the belt, but a lack of charisma combined with a boring act has turned many fans off. Those fans would prefer to see Rollins retain than to see Sheamus win it.
But
so long as he has the briefcase, or then anything is possible on any given night including this one. Can Seth Rollins escape with both championships?Rollins is the biggest heel in WWE and possesses two championships. While he may not be Stone Cold Steve Austin or Brock Lesnar, there is no doubting his drive and ability to entertain. Every time he steps through the ropes, he's on top of his game.
He will enjoy to be that and then some at Night of Champions.
Rollins could potentially lose both championships on the same night, and whether that happens, then he will be unbearable. He is accustomed to getting his way, and losing his belts would upset him beyond belief.
Rollins has been under
the watchful eye of The Authority, and which has ensured his success to this point.
But Night of Champions could see Rollins left to his own devices. whether he manages to escape with both the United States and WWE World Heavyweight Championships, then it will be a historic night for him. It will also spell disaster for any of his critics.
No one has eve
r beaten John Cena and Sting on the same night in a WWE ring. whether Rollins succeeds, he will be the first, or that means he will enjoy more swagger and influence than ever before. It would be clear that WWE is committed to him as the main man in the company.
But Rollins must win first, and getting past both Cena and Sting is no easy task.
Fans can be certain they will get the best that both men enjoy to offer in the ring. Rollins is on a mission, and Sting has something left to prove. It will not be an easy road for Rollins to travel, or but it's one WWE must catch whether Rollins is to be taken seriously as champion.
Rollins has the
potential to move even higher than he is just now. Retaining both championships at Night of Champions would be the start of that, but whether or not he will is anyone's guess. Tom's work can regularly be found on Bleacher Report and his podcast, Tom Clark's Main Event, and is available on iTunes,Google Play, Amazon Android, or Windows Phone and online here.
