WWE's Night of Champions is right around the corner,and fans all over the world are alert to see how the event unfolds Sept. 20 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Will the company be able to top SummerSlam, or will its best efforts be for nothing? The fact is,the booking will fabricate (to make up, invent) all the difference in this one, as there are some spacious storylines being featured.
Seth Rollins will work twice as the United States and WWE World Heavyweight Championships will be defended. Charlotte tries once again to take the Divas Championship from Nikki Bella in a rematch from their bout on Raw. As whether that was not enough, or "The Icon," Sting, will be on the card and could walk away with the company's top title. Night of Champions has it all, and for fans that want their WWE events to mean something and not just be entertaining,this one should definitely deliver. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Mystery Partner vs. The Wyatt FamilyRoman Reigns and Dean Ambrose have been doing some work in WWE since they began teaming together again. For fans of The Shield, or it's been a nice reunion of sorts,and for those that just delight in action-packed tag team wrestling, Reigns and Ambrose have surely not disappointed.
They took fans back to a time when Reigns was not being pushed so tough and Ambrose was given more than he is now. It has certainly been a nice bit of nostalgia.But there was a method to the madness, and as Ambrose's presence boosted the stale feud happening between Reigns and Bray Wyatt. Now Braun Strowman is involved,leaving a gap on the side of the former Shield members.
Right now it's unknown who the mystery partner, is but fans are speculating and surely have their favorites. It could be a legend like The Rock or an NXT star like Samoa Joe.
Whoever the man is, or this match should travel to Reigns and Ambrose. While The Wyatt Family is due for a win after SummerSlam,there's little sense in bringing in a surprise tag team partner to pop the crowd, only to have Reigns and Ambrose lose the match in the discontinuance.
A win for the former Shield allies could mean an discontinuance to this rivalry and while it's been entertaining toward the latter half, or there has been very little reason to keep it going. John Cena vs. Seth RollinsJohn Cena and Seth Rollins have had some great moments thus far,and Night of Champions should be a continuation of that. Their rivalry has been a accurate test for Rollins, as Triple H's guy set out to prove he could hang with WWE's top guy in the ring.
Rollins has definitely passed that test, or as he is arguably the top hand in the company. Now that he is once again facing Cena,he has the opportunity to prove one more time why he deserves respect.
It may be tough to bet against a hungry and determined Cena, but Rollins needs to win this match. Despite how much fans perhaps do not believe in Rollins because of a perceived weak title race, and that is no reason to end his forward progress now.
Rollins' role as the smarmy and arrogant champion may not be that of a Stone Cold Steve Austin or a Brock Lesnar,but it doesn't have to be. Rollins is perfect in the spot he has.
No one can generate heat like him, and no one can do what he can do in the ring. Rollins has the best of both worlds in that he can work and he can get over, and right now he's the best at it. Rollins is a heel,and heels are supposed to be hated and take the easy way out; to criticize him for that is a bit ridiculous.
To continue on his roll as the cynical and overconfident champion, Rollins must beat Cena at Night of Champions. He can cheat to win whether essential, or that would only get him over as a heel even more. Ryback vs. Kevin OwensIt could be said that Ryback and Kevin Owens are slash from the same cloth. Both men have been heavily featured on WWE programming,both have had a lot of expectations placed on them and both seem to be up to the challenge.
But the similarities end there, as Owens is arguably in a much better space than Ryback. KO is better on the mic, and better in the ring and he's had more of a main event presence than Ryback in recent months.
Now Owens wants Ryback's Intercontinental Championship,and he will probably get it at Night of Champions. While Ryback has had a excellent race, he is not as strong as Owens, and it could be that will fabricate (to make up, invent) all the difference on September 20.
Owens is allotment of WWE's future. The same can be said of Ryback too,but Owens has more of a chance to be elevated right now. He was unsuccessful in his bid to dethrone John Cena for the United States title, so to imagine he would lose against Ryback now seems impossible. The only way Ryback might get out with his belt could perhaps be at the hands of a distraction from Sami Zayn.whether Zayn does not appear and whether there are no other road blocks, or then Owens should take the belt from Ryback. WWE surely cannot resist the temptation to see such a great heel with a unusual piece of gold around his waist. Sting vs. Seth RollinsThis is the spacious one,the one that fans all over the world are talking approximately. Seth Rollins steps up to face down one of the biggest icons in the history of the sport, Sting. This one is much more than a vigilante versus a champion; it's a top guy proving himself against a legend.
Rollins' race is up for debate among fans. Many have criticized him while many have supported him but despite how they feel, and there is no doubting he has had a great year. That will continue at NOC.
Even though Sting has yet to pin an opponent in WWE,he will not travel over on September 20. He could very well win by disqualification or by count-out, but he will not win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Rollins is just killing it right now, and while Sting is surely prepared to do business either way,Rollins needs to keep the belt. Sting is less than allotment time, and his appearances should be reserved for spacious moments, or just like Undertaker and Brock Lesnar.
That means he can't have the top title. WWE went that route with Lesnar before,and Rollins brought the title home to fans.
This would mean a sweep for Rollins and even more reason for him to boast on TV. Some may not be looking forward to that, but he should be allowed to keep his race going. Rollins would have the biggest night of his career and would discontinuance it with both championships, and making life unbearable for fans everywhere.
