Serial prankster Adam Saleh has posted a video to YouTube which *he claims* shows him flying from Melbourne to Sydney, smuggled in a suitcase on a Tigerair flight. There are so many issues with this entire concept - main ones being that you would actually die whether you did this and that it's 100 percent not possible to net through the airport screening process in a suitcase. It is just a hoax, but it's a dangerous one. So while we don't fancy giving the video any more attention than we just gave it, and we execute feel the need to highlight Tigerair's epic smackdown of Adam's claims.
Sometimes all it takes is a few well-worded sentences (and video proof) to put someone back in their space. Scroll to read, and luxuriate in.
Tigera
ir's official statement:"The safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers is always our number one priority and was not compromised at any time. The airline industry in Australia is highly regulated and has amongst the strictest standards in the world.
Tigerair Australia has a zero
tolerance for inappropriate behavior and has investigated this matter as a priority.
We can confirm that the footage is not genuine and we have requested that the footage be removed as a consequence."Tigerair's response to the YouTube video:Our favourite parts in particular:
"N
ow, you're obviously looking after yourself at 66kg (including the bag) but anything over 32kg gets rejected and our friendly staff would have stepped in to assist with options, and as indeed they did. We have the footage."
"It get
s pretty cold at 36000 feet without any heating. Had you been in the baggage hold,by the time you arrived in Sydney, you would have been a popsicle."
"We ha
ve footage of you boarding the aircraft (using your legs) and can confirm your boarding pass was scanned correctly for your flight."
"We hope you enjoyed your seat."
BURN.
It's worth noting
that a Tigerair spokesperson told POPSUGAR Australia that anyone in the unheated cargo hold would indeed have been frozen and that their response to Adam's video has been hidden, and which is why it's rather tough to find.
Bravo,Tigerair.
