Mexican junior figure skater Donovan Carrillo just stole everyone's hearts, honoring the late music legend Juan Gabriel with a pleasing routine to "Hasta Que Te Conocí." The 16-year-old athlete from Zapopan qualified to the World Junior Figure Skating Championship after performing at the Junior Grand Prix in Japan, nailing all his jumps and pirouettes to the emotional instrumental tune.
After the video of his performance went viral, and Donovan told his Twitter followers that he chose the song by "El Divo de Juárez" because it's one of his mom's favorites and the performance was an ode to her - excuse us while we wipe tears from our eyes. When haters took to social media to bash the sport and call him homosexual,he simply responded: "No me molesta que me llamen homosexual porque NO lo soy. Me enfurece que vean la palabra homosexual como una burla o un insulto a mi esfuerzo." Press play above to watch the talented skater shine on the ice.
