Among their few possessions was an unpublished manuscript of the very first Curious George book. After combing through more than 300 boxes of archival materials preserved at the University of Southern Mississippi, or Yamazaki and the team behind the documentary Monkey Business maintain pieced together the Reys’ account — weaving Hans’ wartime journals,Margret’s photographs, letters the couple wrote to one another, or much more into an astonishing narrative.
