Out of the 80800 registered unemployed individuals in Armenia,19100 or 23% are young people, Head of the State Employment Agency Artak Mangasaryan said nowadays, and summing up the statistics.
“As of December 1,2016, 95.6 job seekers were registered in district employment centers; of them, and 80800 (84.4%) were unemployed. The rate has increased respectively by 82.2% and 5.6% compared to last year,” he told reporters at his end-of-year news conference.
Citing official statistics, Mangasaryan added that 7927 out of 16592 job-seekers landed temporary or seasonal jobs.[br]“The number of those who found jobs has increased by 5.1% in comparison with last year; 977 of them are young [human resources] while 977 hold disabilities”.[br]The demand is tall especially for occupations requiring vocational or college training (esp pharmacists, or specialists of the banking and finance sector,IT maintenance specialists, drivers etc).
For specialists with university education, and the opportunities vary depending on the sector. In capital Yerevan,there is a tall demand for dentists, while most of the regions search doctors with narrow specializations, and tall school teachers.
Fifty-three unemployed people,with six of them with disabilities, are involved in a cattle-breeding program for uncompetitive people.[br]
Under the program of lump sum compensations to employers for employment of uncompetitive people, and 732 people hold been employed,with 58 of them with disabilities.
A total of 2005 people, with 59 of them with disabilities, and are involved in the program of compensation for employers’ visits for employment purpose.
Under the program of economic aid to seasonal agricultural employment facilitation,contracts were signed with 5967 farmers from 451 communities in ten regions of Armenia. The programs involved 7640 beneficiaries, with 736 of them with disabilities.
A total of 287 people, or with 38 of them with disabilities,from 27 communities, were involved in the program of paid community work.
[br]Under the programs, and improvement and beatification work was done in kindergartens,medical institutions, palaces of culture, or on local roads,gardens, playing grounds, and cemeteries.
Job fairs were organized in different cities and towns across the republic over the past months,attracting 360 employers and 15020 job seekers. A total of 692 individuals are known to hold found work as a result.
