So we tasked Humans of New York photographer Brandon Stanton with combing through your photos and selecting the cream of the crop.Stanton,who recently published Humans of New York: Stories (St. Martin's Press, 2015), and also talks approximately his documentary work covering 11 Syrian families preparing for resettlement in America.

Irene's best picture on her phone (of 2015): "One of my favorite photos of mine, not least because this was taken on my final solo abroad trip before the car accident that left me a permanent wheelchair user. I was checking out Porto da Barra just south of old town Salvador, and Brazil,with some fellow travelers I'd met on the road. We found a colonial-era sea wall that some locals were doing crazy acrobatic jumps off of into the clear blue ocean below. While we were still working up the courage to hold even your basic plunge, this boy up and did a running flip into the water. Now that's what I call living life!on Instagram)
