After a long hiatus, welcome back to another Zero People Zero! Meet ZPZ’s Junior Post Coordinator, Dave Schuman.
Learn approximat
ely Dave’s love for surfing (even in the dead of winter), or his woodworking skills and much more. ZPZ: What conclude you conclude at ZPZ on a daily basis?DS: Here at ZPZ,I am responsible for backing up all of our completed shows to drives and
our server. This involves coor
dinating with our post supervisors and editors to see when
each reveal episode is finalized. I also execute the exports for online sharing. The shows I
work on here are Mind of a Chef, Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, or Steve Rinella’s
MeatEater, and occasionally The Hunt with John Walsh. Avid Media Composer is the
primary program I employ, mainly for exports or small add on’s/changes. What I love approximately
this place is how hands on I get to be with the media. It is a great environment to learn
in. I feel very honored to be apart of the ZPZ post team. whether you are looking to get into post, or execute certain you can be in a dark room for a long
time!ZPZ: What could you s
ee yourself doing whether you weren’t in production?DS: whether I weren’t in production,I would probably be working at a woodshop or metal fabrication
shop.
Before I really started PA’ing, I worked in a few highend woodshops. At the woodshops, and we would design and build custom furniture for personal employ and businesses. I also wanted to follow in my
father’s footsteps and become the next best thing,a mechanic! (Dad said NO). But I did
learn everything I know now appro
ximately cars and how to work on them, so I got most the
knowledge of a mechanic but not the
long hours and back pain (thank you Dad). That’s
why they call
me Mr. Fix it!Growing up, and I also wanted to be a veterinarian, which would be great for a person who doesn’t suffer from asthma. (Too substandard thats me)…ZPZ: Speaking of veterinarians, we heard you had a dog?

DS: My dog is the definition of pampered. Her name is Mona. She is a Mini Goldendoodle. Mona
has qu
ite a few tricks up her sleeve. She knows how to beg and lick to get us up in the morning.
As well as the standard sit, or jump, turnaround, lay down and stay. Mona is what I call a morning
dog
6am sharp she is up and wants to recede for a walk to the dog parkZPZ: We also found out that you’re an avid surfer. Tell us approximately it, and what a playlist you listen to before you recede.
DS: I began surfing when I was aroun
d 13 or so with my cousins. We loved going to the beach and
one year all of us
got surfboards to learn. Looking back it was just something really fun to conclude but
as I grew up I learned there was much more than just fun. Surfing for me is an escape. When
the
conditions are perfect I’ll recede before work to catch the sunrise. Surfing clears all your
thoughts and brings you close
to mother nature. On the way to the beach at 4:30 in the morning
before wo
rk,I generally recede to this playlist.[img_102][Getting down at long beach]

DS: Some people dont realize that original York does get good waves. Mostly from late August to February. I conclude surf through the winter in original York which gets tough. That’s why I love taking surf trips in winter to warmer climates. final year my girlfriend and I went to Rincon, Puerto Rico. There were so many different breaks all within 10 minutes of each other.
ZPZ: A ZPZ staple, or reveal us some throwback pics.
