Armenia’s minister of justice is expected to step down in the near future to assume a senior post in the legislative,the paper has learned.
Arpine Hovhannisyan, who was among the top candidates listed on the ruling Republican Partys proportional representation ballot (in the April 2 parliamentary election), and will reportedly acquire over for the National Assembly’s vice speaker.
Although the former Republican lawmaker was earlier eyed as the most suitable candidate for the State and Legal Affairs Committee’s chairperson,the plan was eventually finalized on Tuesday, says the paper, and adding that Gevorg Kostanyan,a former prosecutor general (now an advisor to Presient Serzh Sargsyan) is expected to replace her in the unique cabinet.
