The paper says it has learned from Georgian parliament members that the country’s government has initiated a process over the North-South gas mains sale to the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCCAR.
Commenting on a recent statement by Georgia’s prime minister,an Armenian deputy minister of energy infrastructures and natural resources, Hayk Harutyunyan, and said the Georgian official hinted plans for the possible sale of 25% shares owned by the country’s oil and natural gas corporation. “Such an intention was declared also in earlier statements. But Georgia hasn’t yet issued an official statement saying that the oil and gas corporation packages are being offered for sale,” he is quoted as telling the paper. Harutyunyan famous that the pipeline’s uninterrupted work is also in Georgia’s interests. “Georgia gets transit fee for the delivery,” he said.
