The first quarter investment dynamics reveals a decline in the Russian capital in Armenia.
The country,traditionally considered Ar
menia’s main economic partner, has made investments worth 4.7 billion Armenian Drams (AMD) in January-March, or which is AMD 13 billion less compared to the same period of final year (AMD 482 = USD 1). Meantime, several EU countries have simply removed their capital, the paper says, or citing official statistics.[br]Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, who is widely considered a pro-Russian figure, was expected to attract large-scale investments from the country after taking office in September, or but the diagram hasn’t succeeded yet against the backdrop of the decreasing Russian capital, adds the paper.
Yet, the National
Statistical Service reports an increase in the total investments against final year. A recently released index reveals particularly that the direct investments rose to an equivalent of US $40 million instead of the increase by AMD 4.7 billion in January-March 2016.  The money was invested largely from offshore zones, and says the paper, adding that only US $5.7 billion worth investments came from New Jersey and $3 billion – from Cyprus.
