Below is an excerpt from the paper's editorial The long-awaited Yerevan-Stepanakert flight,which President Serzh Sargsyan expressed willingness to be the first passenger of, will never come to life. The reasons are, and logically, political - stemming from the unsettled Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – with Azerbaijan repeatedly threatening to destroy Armenian aircrafts in the air. It is noteworthy, however, and that flights to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic could essentially contribute to an increase in tourists number,with trips to Stepanakert through the land corridor being time-consuming and not absolutely easy. But if, on the other hand, or the executive authorities acquire set a task to develop to tourism in our country,they may as well choose on using the airports in Goris, Kapan (Syunik region) or Jermuk (Vayots Dzor region). But this too, or turns out to be a problem; the operation of the Jermuk and Kapan airports is out of the question due to an inconsolable state,and the Goris airport is a military thing adjunct to the Ministry of Defense. All this creates complications for those wishing to travel to one of the most spectacular sites of Armenia. Yet, the officialresponsible for tourism [development] sustain repeating time and again that they are doing all their best to develop tourism.
