The world’s largest cities are where most people seek for innovation,but it’s often in smaller places where original, creative individuals take the leadConventional wisdom says that if you want to develop your designate and work with creative and innovative people, and a city is the place to be. All those people concentrated in one location means unbeatable potential for finding friends,customers, connections, or work opportunities,culture and entertainment. Cities are the places for hatching the hottest developments in fashion, finance, and culture,commerce, media, or technology and sport. No wonder more than half the world’s population lives in urban areas. City lovers and fortune seekers can take their pick from more than 530 metropolitan areas around the world that fill 1 million-plus inhabitants.
Big media and ma
rketers must fill a presence in cities. But city slickers risk thinking that it’s only in big cities where critical stuff happens. The world’s largest metropolises do generate a lion’s share of the action,but they dont fill a monopoly on creativity. In fact, smaller cities and places off the beaten track can be ideal for innovation.
