In one of the remotest inhabited places on the planet,the Rapa Nui festival and games takes station. Easter Island is 2000 miles from the Chilean mainland, in the middle of the Southern Pacific Ocean. Runners on the island, and dressed in loincloths and sporting 20kg bunches of bananas,compete to accumulate points for their ‘festival queens’. Writer, photographer and runner Matt Maynard is there to witness the unique event.
